Home to a thriving dairy herd and sheep flock, Rodway Farm gives students the chance to learn in a genuine commercial environment.
Located just minutes from the main Cannington College campus, it is a fully operational, commercial mixed farm. Students don’t just learn theory, but live as an agricultural professional, managing real livestock, crops, and data every single day.
We believe in learning by doing. All Agriculture students, regardless of their level, take part in farm duties. Whether it is the 5.00am milking shift, tractor driving during harvest, or checking livestock late at night, you will graduate with the work ethic and practical competence that employers are desperate for.
What we offer
At the core of Rodway Farm is our high-performance dairy herd, ranked in the top 1% of the UK for genetic merit.
Our sheep enterprise provides hands-on experience in flock management throughout the production cycle.
Rodway Farm is a model of self-sufficiency and circular farming. The majority of our arable crops are used to feed the dairy and sheep units.
We focus on the use of agri-tech: big data, drones, and robotics to improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
We operate a modern fleet of tractors & telehandlers, learning to use GPS guidance systems and precision agronomy techniques.

Milk production
Our milk is sold commercially to a major buyer, teaching students the importance of meeting strict hygiene and quality assurance standards (Red Tractor Assurance).

The academic year, which starts in September, is split into three terms: autumn, spring, and summer. Terms are separated by Christmas, Easter and the summer holidays, respectively.
