University Centre Somerset partners with Somerset County Cricket Club for 2026 season

University Centre Somerset (UCS) is proud to announce a new partnership with Somerset County Cricket Club for the 2026 cricket season, bringing together two organisations at the heart of the Somerset community.

The partnership will see UCS featured across the season through match sponsorships, player sponsorships and matchday activations at the Cooper Associates County Ground in Taunton. It reflects a shared commitment to supporting local talent, creating opportunities, and inspiring the next generation.

As part of the partnership, UCS is sponsoring two key players, Riley Meredith and Dani Gibson, as well as two fixtures during the season. UCS will also be present in the Fan Village at selected matches, where visitors will be able to meet staff and students, take part in interactive activities, and find out more about higher education opportunities available locally.

This collaboration highlights the important role that both UCS and Somerset County Cricket Club play in the region; connecting communities, supporting ambition, and helping individuals achieve their potential.

For UCS students, the partnership will also provide opportunities to get involved in live events, gain valuable experience, and be part of a major sporting environment.

Will Hall-Tomkin, SCCC's Commerical Sales Executive, said,

"We are delighted to be partnering with UCS ahead of the 2026 season. It is a great chance to raise the profile of the brilliant higher education opportunities that are on the doorstep of our fanbase.

There is great synergy between the two organisations and we look forward to a healthy and collaborative community-driven partnership!"

Ash Kempson, Dean of UCS, added,

“This partnership is about more than visibility, it’s about creating meaningful connections with our community and showing that you don’t have to leave Somerset to achieve your goals.”

Throughout the season, UCS will be sharing content and stories, as well as cheering on and celebrating the success of the Somerset teams and players.
