University Centre Somerset is celebrating after Nurse Educator Emily White received a prestigious Cavell Star Award, recognising her exceptional dedication to students, colleagues and patients.


The Cavell Star Awards celebrate nurses, midwives, nursing associates and healthcare assistants who go above and beyond to make a positive difference to those around them.

Emily was nominated by fellow Nurse Educator Lucy Childs, who recognised her unwavering commitment to supporting both students and colleagues.

Emily is an outstanding member of the team who consistently goes above and beyond to support both her colleagues and students, always demonstrating kindness, professionalism, and dedication. In addition to her educational role, she continues to work clinically as a nurse, providing holistic, compassionate care to patients and bringing invaluable real-world experience and expertise to those around her.

Alongside teaching the next generation of healthcare professionals at University Centre Somerset, Emily continues to work in clinical practice, ensuring students benefit from up-to-date knowledge, industry insight and first-hand experience of modern nursing.
