Course Overview
Whether experienced in the early years sector or not, if you are committed to making a difference to the lives of children, young people and families, this Foundation Degree is the perfect underpinning for your career. The programme has been developed to link closely with placement/work experiences and extensive research has been conducted to inform the design and delivery of the programme.
Assessment Methods
There are no exams. Each module is assessed through assignments, which may include reflective essays, the creation of learning resources, and presentations.
Progression Options
This Foundation Degree can lead to a variety of career paths, including roles in family support, children’s centers, primary schools, and other early years settings. A top-up year is available for students who wish to achieve a Level 6 BA (Hons) Degree.
Entry Requirements
- A minimum of 64 UCAS tariff points from a full Level 3 qualification in a related subject area.
- At least four GCSEs, including English and maths, at grade 4 or above, or a recognised equivalent.
- Mature students who do not meet these formal requirements can apply if they can demonstrate relevant experience and knowledge.
- A Disclosure and Barring Service check is required before any work placement.
